Once the top coat has dried well, stick the masking tape to the bottom edge of the paint where the separation is to take place. Press down well, using a cloth if necessary.  <\/p>\n<p>Now &#8220;paint&#8221; the lower edge of the adhesive tape with the same color using a smaller brush. The paint undercuts the adhesive tape slightly &#8211; despite the good pressure. This makes the adhesive tape side &#8220;tight&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<p>When the second color is painted over it after drying, it can no longer run under the adhesive tape, as this has already been done by the top color.
