Tips for varnishing and glazing
Edges and angles
Edges and angles should be painted with a ring brush, large areas with a roller. When pre-painting edges and angles, make sure that the paint has not yet dried before you start painting the larger areas.
To avoid build-up, always apply overlapping coats, i.e. first roll crosswise, lane by lane, then make one pass lengthwise.
The products should always be stirred well with a stirring stick before use.
To prevent the brush from absorbing too much paint, only dip it halfway into the paint.
The rim of the can remains clean if you stretch adhesive tape over the can and wipe the brush against it.
For multi-colored coats, make sure that you start with the lightest shade and finish with the darkest.
Do not apply the paint too thickly. Paint the edges first and then the surfaces. You can create artistic color changes and textured effects with a brush or spatula.
AURO wood wax protects all glazed surfaces effective protection against soiling indoors. The wax is applied with a bale cloth after the glaze treatment and then polished.
Used cleaning cloths can self-ignite due to the content of drying oils, so always spread them out individually to dry or store them tightly closed in a metal container.
Wood stain for exterior use
AURO glazes do not contain biocides. If required, AURO can provide you with detailed information on protective measures for softwoods against blue stain and mold fungi as well as on the pre-treatment of weathered wood.
Weathered wood can be refreshed in two steps(graining technique): The wood is first lightened with protective AURO colored varnish and then varnished with AURO wood stain, aqua.
In order to achieve sufficient protection against water, dirt and UV radiation, Wood Stain must be applied three coats outdoors . Beforehand, wood rich in substances must be pre-treated with AURO special primer.
Which is the right brush cleaner?
When working with PurSolid and Classic products, we recommend cleaning tools with AURO Thinner No. 191.
Tools used when working with Aqua products are best washed out with Plant Soap No. 411 and water.
What do you use to clean glazed and painted surfaces?
For cleaning glazed and varnished surfaces, we recommend AURO Lacquer and glaze cleaner No. 435, which is a concentrate and should therefore not be used pure. Dissolve the cleaner in warm water and clean the surface with a soft, non-linting cloth. Wipe with clear water.
Recommended dosage:
